According to the Weather Service, the stormy weather has caused a major power outage in the city of Atlanta, which is located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of Atlanta.
The outage caused some people to lose power, according to the weather service.
The National Weather Services Center in Atlanta issued a flash flood warning for Atlanta, Georgia, and said the power outage could last up to 10 hours, with no reported damage to homes or businesses.
Power outages have been reported across the country as the season gets underway and the weather system continues to bring stormy conditions.
